Huitzilopochtli, the Aztec god of the sun and heart of the cactus, born of Coatlicue, the serpent-skirted earth goddess and mother of the sun. Together they ruled the heavens and the earth below. Prickly pear meets a coiled aloe "snake" where the celestial and the earthly become one true pair.
